There are four statutory assessment points in a child’s journey through primary school:
1. End of Reception Good Level of Development (GLD)
2. End of Year 1 Phonic Screening
3. End of Key Stage 1 (Year 2) testing (Internally marked for Reading, Writing, SPaG, Maths, Science and Speaking and Listening) and teacher assessment
4. End of Key Stage 2 (Year 6) testing (externally marked for Reading, SPaG and Maths; Science is teacher assessed, unless selected as a 40% sample group) and teacher assessment.
