Community Centre

The Galfrid School is located at the centre of the Abbey Ward. We pride ourselves on being good neighbours and welcome the opportunity to be involved in local events and activities. You can learn more about the ward from the City Council and Abbey People websites.

The Community Centre has a number of meeting rooms for hire and we also rent out our two school halls during the evenings. We have a number of groups and societies using our space but we do have vacancies.  If you are looking for a venue for a one-off meeting or a regular event please do get in touch.

We are also interested in hearing from anyone who would like to set up a new club or activity; if you have an idea that you think would be popular, but need a space to see if it will work, we would be happy to help.

Large Meeting Room

This room has lots of natural light; a great space for large meetings and presentations. We can accommodate 50 people theatre style and 25 board room. You have access to a community kitchen and reception area if you wish to bring your own refreshments or talk to us about doing this for you.

Committee Rooms

The larger room is a good meeting space for up to 10 people and the smaller room can accommodate 4-6 people. As with our other rooms you have access to the kitchen to arrange your own tea and coffee etc or we can do this for you for a small charge.

Kitchen and Reception

If you are looking for an informal space with kitchen facilities then our reception area may be just the right space for you. With comfortable sofas and space to meet and greet you could host a small event during the day or evening.

School Hall

Our school halls are popular lets for adult and family sports activities. We currently have a couple of evenings free so get in touch if you are looking to offer an activity either as a regular event or a one off opportunity.

Our Junior Hall is 17m x 8.5m and the Infant Hall 17m x 9m.
