Admissions

Admissions

The Galfrid Primary Academy is open to children of all backgrounds and abilities.

Admissions Arrangements

All children must legally start school in the term following their fifth birthday. In Cambridgeshire, children are normally offered a Reception place from the September following their fourth birthday.

The Published Admission Number (PAN) for the school is 30 pupils per year group. This means the school can admit up to 30 children into Reception each academic year.

Reception Admissions

Applications for Reception places are coordinated and processed by Cambridgeshire County Council. To apply, please follow the Local Authority admissions process.

Further information can be found on the Cambridgeshire County Council website, or you can contact their Admissions Team on 0345 045 1370 or admissions@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

In-Year Admissions

From the 16th of June 2026, The Galfrid School will administer its own in-year admissions process.

Applications can be submitted at any time; however, the school will only begin processing applications up to six school weeks before the intended start date. Applicants will be notified of the outcome within 15 school days of their application being processed.

Application Forms

Applications submitted during the summer holiday period will still be processed, although this may take up to 15 school days.
